School House Bed + Breakfast Reservations

Advance reservations are highly recommended. School House Bed & Breakfast reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit equal to one night's room rate, including applicable taxes, charged to a valid credit card. We accept Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Some holiday and special event weekends require a two night minimum stay. Posted rates are subject to change without notice.

Cancellations

If a reservation is cancelled at least 10 days in advance of the scheduled arrival date, a refund of the reservation deposit, less a 10% handling charge will be given, or fully exchanged for a gift certificate to be used on a future date. When a cancellation is received with nine days or less in advance of the scheduled arrival date, the party will be charged for the entire cost of the reserved night(s) unless we are able to re-book the room for all nights reserved. If the room is rebooked, a refund will be given less a 10% handling charge. Failure to cancel your reservation will result in charges for all nights of your reserved stay. Cancellation requests are always confirmed by the innkeeper via e-mail or phone.

Group Reservations & Cancellations

Group reservations at the School House Bed + Breakfast (more than three rooms) require a 50% non-refundable advance deposit, with balance collected at check-in. If the reservation is cancelled with at least 30 days notice, there are no additional charges. If the cancellation is made with 29 or less days notice, the entire balance due for the stay will be charged.

Check-In

Inn check-in is from 4-6 p.m. A convenient self check-in procedure for later arrivals is available with advance notice. Sorry, but we cannot accommodate earlier than 4 p.m. arrivals for the inn. Dormitory guests use a self check-in procedure that is available starting at 2:30 p.m.

Checking Out of the B + B

Check-out is by 11 a.m. for both Inn and Dormitory guests.

Children and Pets

Children (including infants) less than 10 years of age may not stay in the Inn; however, children of any age may stay in the Dormitory. Each child/infant counts towards the maximum occupancy of the Dormitory rooms.  

Guests are not allowed to bring pets; only ADA recognized service animals are allowed. However, boarding kennels are available in nearby Columbia.

Smoking/Candles

For the safety and comfort of all guests, no smoking, incense, or open flames of any kind are allowed inside the Inn or the Dormitory. Smoking on the property is permitted on exterior patios only. There is a minimum $500 cleaning charge for violating the smoking/candles policy.  For guest enjoyment, each guest room has a firesafe battery-operated pillar candle that glows like a real candle.
